58% Of Diabetes, 21% Of Heart Disease and up to 42% of certain cancers are attributed to excess body fat. 2% increase in intake from trans fatty acids have been attributed to a 23% rise in the rates of Coronary Heart Disease, whilst 40% of deaths in Ireland are attributed to such illnesses.
